No Scurvy here, drink Rose Hip Tea

Rose hips are as close as your garden or flower bed.  Harvest these, little gems, just after the first frost allowing their starches to turn to sugar. If the hips freeze solid and then thaw, the taste is very unpleasant.   Make sure that the rose plants have not been treated with chemicals before you harvest. Rose Hips are a reddish seed pod that developes after the rose head has withered, as long as it has not been dead headed. They make a wonderful comforting and stimulating tea during the cold months.
